Laser Cutting Systems
This series of videos demonstrates how Worldwide Lasers LP8000 series of laser cutting systems can be used to cut a wide range of products across almost all industries.
Most Laser Cutting system requirements can be meet with the LP8000 Co2 series of laser. The lasers used in these videos have both fixed beam delivery with x-y tables or rotary fixtures to move the parts [this is the most common approach for laser cutting] however also demonstrated are galvo laser systems which can cut an area as large as 10" square without moving either the product.
The LP8000 series of lasers in fact all LP series of lasers YAG, Fiber, Co2 can also be coupled with fixed beam and x-y tables or rotary fixtures [see our systems division section for details and to view some of the types of turn key laser systems we have built for other customers].
The major advantages of laser cutting with the LP8000 series or actually any cutting lasers from Worldwide Laser are:
- Highly Accurate and repeatable placement of laser cuts on products precision and repeatability of +/- one micron can be achieved
- High speed of laser cutting allows for increased plant efficiency and manufacture of more parts
- Eliminate of costly mechanical cutting systems and the lost production time associated with change over of cutting punch or blades when product is changed
- No maintenance or need to purchase MRO parts once the laser cutting systems are installed they are maintenance and cost free for up to 5 years of operations or 30,000 hours.
- Significant reduction of scrap rates and the costs associated with scrap
- Laser cutting or laser trimming can be done closer to the edge of the product so less product is wasted
- Laser cutting systems eliminate all machine contact with the part being cut so the press or punch can no longer crush or tear the part
- Laser cutting systems eliminate blades and/or knives which can dull or build up with debris causing damage to the part being cut
